Onondaga Farms Plantation

The Canadian Chestnut Council has dedicated itself to restoring the tree to its historical range in Canada. To this end, the Council has undertaken a cross-breeding program to develop a blight resistant tree. The primary plantation for our cross- breeding program is at Onondaga Farms in Brant County, Ontario
The Canadian Chestnut Council is organized exclusively to promote charitable, educational and scientific goals and objectives relating to the preservation and restoration of the sweet chestnut (Castanea dentata) in Canada.
